Kalanchoe Specialties
The Kalanchoe is a very big botanical family, and the plant therefore comes in many different colours, sizes and shapes. We have gathered together the most remarkable Kalanchoes under the name Specialties. Bells, bicoloured flowers or leaves with tiger stripes? Nothing is too outrageous! Just like other Kalanchoes, the Specialties require no special care. They like a light spot in the home, whereby full sun is no problem. Kalanchoes do not need much water either: once a fortnight is enough. If the plant is placed over a radiator or in full sun, water it more often. In any case make sure that the soil does not remain wet, but does not dry out completely either.
Tip! Finding it difficult to choose from the different types of Kalanchoe Specialties? They also come in a mix!
Surprising Desert
Kalanchoe Surprising Desert has a very different look from what you might expect of a Kalanchoe. Its leaves with a tiger stripe pattern are real eyecatcher. Combined with the minimalist flowers, they give the Surprising Desert a rugged look.
Lucky Bells
Kalanchoe Lucky Bells is characterised by its tall stems tipped with full clusters of coral-red bells. The foliage is also different from what you might expect of a Kalanchoe: Lucky Bells has narrow oval leaves with a serrated edge. This makes this plant playful and surprising.
Femini
Kalanchoe Femini is the gentlest Specialty of all! Her adorable pastel flowers in pale pink or orange like to show off. But don’t be misled - the heart of the flowers and the rugged darker edge on the leaves clearly show that she will not be seduced easily.
Magic Bells
Kalanchoe Magic Bells is one of the most eye-catching Kalanchoes. The lantern-shaped ‘bells’ are a beautiful pale green, and after a while they produce coral-coloured flowers. These disappear again after flowering, but you can continue to enjoy the ‘bells’ for a long time. The fabulous foliage also helps make the plant a real feature in an interior.
Kalanchoe Sunny
The sunshine in your life! That is Kalanchoe Sunny. This Specialty is very similar to the classic double-flowered Kalanchoe, but the Kalanchoe’s unique shape and leaves make it really distinctive. Kalanchoe Sunny is available in various colours, including white, pale pink and ‘brushed pink’, and also in red at Christmas.
